Claim 1: “The Palestinian people have had their land and rights taken away since 1948.”

Updated: Oct 4

Fact: The 1948 war was initiated by Arab states, not Israel.

The land known as Palestine was under British control from 1917 to 1948. The 1947 UN Partition Plan offered both Jews and Arabs statehood — Jews accepted; Arabs rejected and launched a war.

  • Jewish land ownership in 1948 was legal, much of it purchased from Arab landowners (see: Palestine Land Development Company, JNF archives).

  • In May 1948, five Arab nations invaded the nascent State of Israel.

  • 700,000 Arabs fled or were encouraged to leave, but 850,000 Jews were expelled from Arab lands — yet no “Jewish refugee problem” endures.

The idea of a continuous Palestinian national identity tied to all the land of Israel arose largely though Russian anti-Israel propaganda after 1967. Ignoring 3000 years of Jewish connection to Israel and an indigenous people and creating the Palestinian people. Important to note all citizens of the area knows as Palestine were known as Palestinians including Jews, Christians and Arabs.

  • Memorable Messages: Short Phrases That Change the Conversation

Message 1:

"Acceptance Brings Peace; Rejection Brings War — 1948 Was a Choice, Not a Theft."

Explanatory logic:

This slogan reframes the narrative from “theft” to a decision made by both sides in 1947-48. It highlights that Jews accepted peaceful partition, Arabs rejected it and resorted to war, suggesting the roots of conflict are choices and leadership— not colonial dispossession.

Message 2:

"Jewish Refugees Rebuilt; Why Are Only Palestinian Refugees Still Stateless?"

Explanatory logic:

By comparing the fate of Jewish refugees from Arab lands and Palestinian refugees, this slogan points out that responsibility and resettlement matter. It invites reflection as to why only one refugee group remains without resolution decades later — making it clear the problem is perpetuated by politics, not just tragedy.

Message 3:

"History Cannot Be Erased: Jewish and Arab Rights Begin With Honest Context."

Explanatory logic:

This slogan centers the conversation on historical facts: Jews legally owned and purchased land; the term “Palestinian” originally included Jews, Christians, and Arabs. It emphasizes that fairness begins with truth, not emotionally-charged accusations that ignore history.
