Fact: Zionism is the modern expression of the Jewish people’s ancient and unbroken connection to their land.  The majority of Jews around the world identify with Zionism, even if they may criticize specific Israeli policies. Surveys consistently show that for most Jews, Zionism is part of their Jewish identity. 

What critics call “segregation” is often a result of the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Hamas refusing peace deals and choosing violence over coexistence. In areas like Judea and Samaria (West Bank), Palestinians are governed by the PA under the Oslo Accords — not Israel — but security coordination is necessary due to ongoing terror threats.

Fact: The 1948 war was initiated by Arab states, not Israel. The land known as Palestine was under British control from 1917 to 1948. The 1947 UN Partition Plan offered both Jews and Arabs statehood — Jews accepted; Arabs rejected and launched a war.
